Bioretensi technology applied in the form of catchment wells as deep as 2.7 meters.
We have clean water for some people is still a luxury item and difficult to obtain. Not only the people in villages who have difficulty clean water, the big cities like Jakarta was experiencing.
That's because people do not realize that the availability of clean water is running low. To fix this, DKI Jakarta government to introduce new technologies to increase the ground water reserves. The technology was called Bioretensi.
Bioretensi technology combines elements of plants, green water and blue water, which is expected to absorb 1.6 million cubic meters per day. Amount, sufficient to meet the domestic needs of about 7.9 million urban communities.
Bioretensi technology applied in the form of catchment-deep wells
2.7 meters. How the well is quite simple, namely by digging at least one meter wide with a depth of 2.7 square meters.
The bottom of the well is filled with stones and roofed times as high as 1.7 meters to hold the foundation. Then on each side wall of the upper wells installed buis (print one square meter of concrete with four holes).
The hole is inserted buis stone and roofed to prevent entry of soil sediments into the well. Then the well was closed with concrete and the mold is closed again with earth.
Bioretensi wells can be made in the yard, gutters, sidewalks, parks, parking lots and alleys are densely populated. Bioretensi technology is an attempt to control excess water and harvest rain water during the dry season.
With average rainfall in Jakarta 2000 millimeters per year, the utilization of technology in the land bioretensi able to save
578.34 million cubic meters of water per year or 1.6 million cubic meters per day. Capacity was sufficient to meet the domestic needs of about
7.9 million urban communities.
Governor Fauzi Bowo, said the program begins with the research conducted Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). IPB introduces bioretensi technology as an alternative technology to overcome the floods in Jakarta and surrounding areas by controlling water and harvest rain water during the dry season.
"We're doing this effort to restore water to the soil surface.
I think it is also very effective with this method is applied as one of the flood management program.
According to the lecturer at the Faculty of Forestry IPB, Nana M Arifjaya, approximately 44.91 percent or 28,902 hectares of land in DKI Jakarta can penetrate water well. "That said, this area became a giant bubble ready to store water. The problem is, the land area is covered with buildings and asphalt.
Making bioretensi wells can successfully reduce flooding and improve the quality of ground water, if the whole society to participate and support the implementation of the environment. Therefore, Fauzi Bowo Jakarta urged communities to work together to make bioretensi wells.
"We invite the community to support these activities. Making bioretensi wells do not just government alone but must involve the community, "said Fauzi Bowo.
